A sustainable tomorrow for our company, our employees and our customers.

As a leading rental company, we practice CSR in many aspects of our business. This is underpinned by the appropriate accreditations in safety, energy management and HR. Our specialisms are accredited to ISO 9001 and the Boels Management System is set up in accordance with ISO 9001.

Safety

Boels wants to discover, engage, excite and help develop the best employees. In doing so, safety is always at the heart of everything we do. For example, we have been fully VCA* certified for many years. Improving the work environment, expanding our safety procedures, training our staff and stimulating a positive working behaviour are key priorities in our company. By implementing these initiatives, the number of unsafe situations and incidents has declined over the past several years.

Sustainability

We contribute to a more sustainable world by continuously expanding our large and diverse zero emission fleet. We actively invest in the latest technologies in order to continually minimise the energy consumption, emissions and noise production caused by the equipment we rent and the branches we operate. That is why we implemented the ISO 50001 Energy Management System. As a result, we have replaced fluorescent tubes with LED lighting, we have improved insulation and we are using smart meters and thermostats in our branches.

Thanks to our large network of branches and hubs, transport distances are always short and efficient. We combine the transport logistics of delivery and collection of equipment as much as possible to reduce CO2 emissions during transport.

UN Global Compact

Since 16 december 2022 Boels Group is a participant in the United Nations Global Compact; the largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative in the world. The Ten Principles and 17 Sustainable Development Goals are the most well-known initiatives. Boels’ participation commits continuous efforts to integrate these principles in our sustainability strategy, culture and day-to-day operations. Within the frame of the UN Global Compact we have formed Sustainability Policy and Code of Conducts for all employees and suppliers. Externally, the progress (Communication on Progress, CoP) is reported to the Global Compact on a yearly basis.

Code of conduct policies

We at Boels are committed to doing business in a way that is fair, honest, and respectful of the law and our policies and values. We foster an open culture of trust and open communication in which Code of Conduct violations are not tolerated. This applies to both our employees and our suppliers. Speaking Up on any inconsistencies with these Codes of Conduct is critical to our supply chain due diligence process, quality standards and risk management.
